Grammy Award-nominated entertainer to headline evening dedicated to improving patient outcomes and public health
Jim Gaffigan – one of only ten comedians who has sold out New York City’s Madison Square Garden – will bring his acclaimed and endearing humor 20 blocks north of that iconic venue to thrill attendees at the 21st Annual National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) Foundation Dinner. The Dinner will be held December 4, 2019, at the Sheraton New York Times Square.
The NACDS Foundation Dinner presents an opportunity to advance the NACDS Foundation, and to celebrate its progress and the collaboration that makes it possible. The NACDS Foundation funds evidence-based research, educational programs and philanthropic initiatives designed to improve patient outcomes and advance public health. Also, the NACDS Foundation Scholarship Program provides grants to schools and colleges of pharmacy for innovative educational programs.
NACDS Foundation President Kathleen Jaeger said, “The NACDS Foundation looks forward to hosting benefactors, partners and collaborators for this wonderful and unique December evening. Together, we have tremendous work to celebrate on behalf of patient outcomes and public health, and we also look forward to laughing and enjoying life with our friends. From his observations of life and from his own personal experiences, Jim Gaffigan knows that laughter makes for important medicine. We couldn’t be happier with this opportunity to bring Jim Gaffigan’s deeply respected and highly relatable brand of humor to our event.”
Jim Gaffigan has earned acclaim and admiration as a comedian, actor, writer, producer, author, top touring performer, and – he is quick to note – father of five. His most recent comedy album, released this year, is Quality Time, and four of his prior releases were nominated for a Grammy Award. In 2016, he won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Morning Program as a commentator on CBS Sunday Morning. His 21-year television and film career spans appearances in more than 80 works – including The Jim Gaffigan Show, on which he collaborated with his wife, Jeannie, throughout its two seasons. His two books – Dad is Fat (2013) and Food: A Love Story (2014) – were New York Times best-sellers.
Gaffigan’s sold-out performance in Madison Square Garden occurred in December 2014 – not long after he performed for Pope Francis and over one million attendees at the Festival of Families in Philadelphia.
