The NACDS Foundation Scholarship Program supports educational programs that aim to improve community health, innovate pharmacy curricula, and foster diversity in pharmacy education.

Supporting Innovation & Diversity in Pharmacy Education

Since 1997, the NACDS Foundation Scholarship Program has provided nearly $5 million in funding for educational initiatives, thanks to the generous support of the program’s benefactors.

Scholarship Awards provided by the NACDS Foundation have two tracks:

  1. Innovating patient care and pharmacy practice
  2. Promoting diversity by fostering support and education in under-represented populations

Awards are designed to support educational programs that:

  • Meaningfully improve community health outcomes, health equity and patient care through innovation;
  • Elevate and innovate pharmacy school curricula to reflect contemporary clinical practice; and/or
  • Foster and support education in under-represented populations

Examples of previous scholarship award topics include:

  • Point-of-care testing and health screenings
  • Telehealth, Digital Health
  • Health & wellness
  • Nutrition and diet-related diseases
  • Behavioral health initiatives
  • Infectious disease, antimicrobial stewardship, and/or vaccines
  • Collaborative patient care in coordination with the broader healthcare team
  • Value-based care
  • Long-acting injectable administration

Past scholarship awardees have a strong faculty lead and entail significant student engagement that is education and/or community based.

To be considered for funding, please complete an NACDS Foundation scholarship application detailing the proposed project highlighting the purpose, timeline, and budget.

Deadline:

Schools and colleges of pharmacy fully accredited by the application date are eligible to apply for both innovation and diversity awards; one submission per track.
